Frequently asked questions

What is your rate?

My current rate for a 50-minute session is $110. However, it’s very important to me that therapy is accessible, so I do offer a limited number of sliding scale options. Please reach out if you’re interested in exploring these options!

How frequently will I come to therapy?

A big part of this is up to you! I recommend my new clients start weekly for at least the first 4-6 weeks while we are getting to know each other and building the foundation for our relationship. Following this 4-6 week period, some clients choose to scale back to every other week. I don’t typically meet with clients less frequently than every other week (unless they are just looking for maintenance sessions) as this does not align with my approach to therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently private pay only and do not accept insurance. I am able to provide a superbill if that is something that your insurance offers. A superbill is a detailed receipt that I can provide to clients after a session. This receipt includes all the information your insurance company needs if you want to get reimbursed for some or all of the cost of the session.

What can I expect for my first session?

First sessions typically look a bit different than a standard therapy session with me. I take the first few minutes of session to go over the informed consent document you signed in greater detail and discuss any questions or concerns you have. Then we spend the remainder of the session getting to know each other. We likely won’t be diving deep into any one topic - I will ask a variety of questions about your history, background, and what brings you to therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that clients notify me at least 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are considered late cancellations.

I offer one “freebie” late cancellation that you can use at any time—no questions asked. I also won’t charge for a late cancellation if we’re able to reschedule for another time that same week.

Otherwise, the full session fee will be charged for late cancellations.

That said, I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations come up. If you're experiencing an emergency or sudden illness, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to be flexible.
